December updates:

Bag Packing & Carol Singing – Saturday 8th December, 2 to 4pm at Sainsbury’s, North Finchley. We will be helping customers to pack their Christmas shopping and then singing some carols inside the store.

Group Christmas Show – Friday 14th December at Manor Drive. Come and see our talented Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Leaders!

Holly Park School Winter Fair – Saturday 15th December.  We’re going to have a Jarbola and sell Christmassy craft items made by the Sscouts, in aid of the Haarlem fundraising appeal.

“Swim to Haarlem” – Saturday 12th January 2019, 5.30 – 7.30pm at Furzefield Leisure Centre, Mutton Lane, Potters Bar, Herts, EN6 3BW. Our journey to Haarlem will be 361 miles and we are going to swim that number of lengths! Look out for the “Swim to Haarlem” noticeboard, a grid of 19 by 19 squares which will allow people to sponsor one or more lengths. (There will also be a “Lucky Square” prize.) We need Scouts to swim lengths towards the total and this will be combined with time trials for the swimming gala and an opportunity to be tested for different stages of the Swimmer badge.

Beavers is run by volunteers and we can only fund meetings and activities with what we raise. Help to support the cost of running by using ‘easyfundraising’ when you make on-line purchases. Click here for details: https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/6thfriernbarnetscouts/

Code Of Conduct

Our Code of Conduct was written in discussion with the Scouts and we have all agreed to follow it, in order to make sure that Scout meetings and activities continue to be productive and enjoyable for everyone.

Please have a read (or re-read) and familiarise yourself with it. The Code of Conduct, Law and Promise are also on display during Scout meetings at Manor Drive.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Malcolm
