They provide specialist training courses to schools\, sports clubs and all organisations that have a duty of care towards children and families. \nThe Bullying Awareness Training for adults course is specifically designed to develop awareness of bullying and cyberbullying. SUMMARY:District St George’s Day Parade
DESCRIPTION:As St George is the Patron Saint of Scouting\, each year\, on the Sunday nearest to St George’s Day\, all Scouts in Barnet Borough District take part in a Parade which ends with a Promise Renewal ceremony. This is an important event and we expect all members of the Group to attend. \nAs part of this special day\, all 6FB Scouts and Cubs are invited to meet at Hollywood Bowl before the Parade for a game and some food\, a treat which will be paid for by the Group. Afterwards we will walk to Victoria Park where the Parade is going to form up. Please note that if you can’t come to the Bowling\, you can still meet us at the Park for the Parade. (Coming to the Bowling only is not an option.) \n  \nBowling \nSunday 27th April\, 1130 at Hollywood Bowl\, High Road\, Finchley\, N12 0GL in full uniform. \n  \nParade \nSunday 27th April\, 1330 at Victoria Park\, N3 (Ballards Lane entrance) in full uniform (if this is a problem for you\, please speak to one of the leaders) – shirts tucked in\, scarf ironed and shoes polished. Wear something under your uniform if the weather is not warm. \nAlong with all the other Groups in Barnet District\, we will form up for the Parade in the park and then proceed to Stephens House\, East End Road\, N3 3QE for the Promise Renewal. Parents are welcome to view the Parade en route – anyone walking alongside is asked to please keep to the pavement and when the Parade reaches Stephens House\, wait outside until the whole Parade is through. \nNOTE: If heavy rain is forecast the Parade may be called off; the District Lead Volunteer will inform the Group Lead Volunteer during the morning and he will pass the news on to the Group. \n  \nPick-up \nWe will dismiss at Stephens House (East End Road\, N3 3QE) at 1530.

SUMMARY:Scout Summer Camp
DESCRIPTION:Where is the camp? \nWe’re going to Wymondley Wood Scout and Guide centre\, a residential and camping centre for organised youth groups. \nLocated between the picturesque villages of Willian and Great Wymondley in North Hertfordshire\, the 4-acre site is situated in a 20-acre conservation area consisting of mature woodland\, streams\, ponds and open grassland. \nHow will we get there? \nWe are going to travel by minibus\, from Manor Drive with equipment and personal kit going in a lorry. The Journey is very straight forward and will take no longer than 1 hour and will return to Manor Drive at 17:00 on the 2nd August. \nWhat happens at camp? \nScouts will sleep in tents and camp in Patrols\, cooking on wood fires. As usual there will be a Patrol points competition\, a cooking contest\, games and evening entertainment when we all get together at Cake O’clock in The Palace! Offsite activities will include hiking and visits and we are planning to go to an Aquapark and a High Ropes facility. The programme will also include wide games\, pioneering and a day out. \nHow much will it cost? \n£275 plus spending money (£35 maximum). Please confirm attendance by Sunday 22 June with a non-refundable deposit of £75. Further payments will be requested in accordance with the payment schedule on OSM/My Scout (£100 by 6 July and £100 by 20 July). Spending money is to be paid to a leader by Friday 18 July (by cash\, in an envelope marked with the Scout’s name\, please); Scouts can then withdraw their spending money from Camp Bank during the camp itself. \nWe understand the financial pressures that parents face and do not want any of our members to feel excluded. Please speak to one of the leaders in confidence if you need assistance from our Helping Hand fund. Summer Camp is the highlight of the Scouting year and allows us to put into practice many of the skills we learn in our weekly programme. We don’t want anyone to miss out on this opportunity. \nHow do I find out more? \nIf you would like find out more about camp please come to a short presentation at Frith Grange on Thursday26th June at 8:30pm where we will be available to answer any of your questions. \nKit lists\, parental consent forms and further information will be issued nearer the time. \nMeanwhile\, if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
